Te Atatu Association Football Club
11th Grade 2017 Season
Welcome to 9-a-side Football.
Te Atatu AFC competes in Northern Football Federation (NFF) Competitions and 11th grade is the first
“Competitive” age group with published results and a Championship title to play for.
Registration occurs in early February using the Online form then pay at the clubrooms or using internet
banking. It is important to register so that you can be placed in a team before the start of the
season. If you have trouble registering please contact me urgently.
Team selection will be in mid- February to allow for pre-season training. This will be done by holding
joint training sessions for the first two weeks. The soccer season runs from 1st April through to the
last week of August so we have 19 weeks of games. There are no games in the middle weekend of the
holidays so we have 22nd April and 15th July off and Easter Saturday 15th April. We do play on
Queens Birthday weekend on 3rd June. There is a grading round of about 7 weeks followed by
competition rounds for the rest of the season.
Fees for 2017 are $130 for the season, which are due at registration. If you have problems paying this
all at once, please speak to someone at registration to arrange a payment plan so they are paid by 31st
March 2017 at the latest.
The Junior teams play one week at “home”, which is Ramlea Park, Taikata Rd . Then the next week
they play “away”, usually at other West Auckland Clubs, but can be a bit further afield on the North
Shore or even up to Warkworth. The games start at 10am for 11th grade and either 11am or noon for
12th grade and all finish within 1 hour. Teams usually meet half an hour before kickoff for warm-up.
The field size is ¾ of a full-sized pitch so is usually at a club’s second field and may have limited
facilities. The goals are 5m across by 2m high. The “Retreating Line” that was trialed last year is
played again but is about 20m from the backline rather than the halfway line that it was at 10th grade.
